A great session sponsored by DBYD – NSW/ACT.
What an honour to participate in this great event!

Every year 190 Australians working in the construction industry take their own lives; this means we lose a construction worker every second day to suicide.

Construction workers are six times more likely to die from suicide than an accident at work. For our young workers, the facts are that they are well over two times more likely to take their own lives than other young Australian men.

A boy born in Australia in 2010 has a life expectancy of 78 years, while a baby girl born simultaneously could expect to live to 82.3 years old.
Men’s health, in general, doesn’t get enough attention as much as women’s. Men don’t talk to each other as much as women do, especially about their problems, including physical/mental health issues.
Right from the start, boys suffer more illness, more accidents and die earlier than their female counterparts.
Men take their own lives at four times the rate of women (that’s five men a day, on average). Accidents, cancer and heart disease all account for the majority of male deaths.

Times Higher Education ranked University of South Australia (UniSA) in the world’s ”Top 50 under 50” just twenty-five years after being established in 1991. A big Congratulations to UniSA and Professor David Lloyd and his team for achieving this milestone. What a great journey and a bright future for UniSA.
What a fantastic opportunity and a great evening for IROS AUSTRALIA in Canberra to reunite with colleagues and other members of the UniSA alumni network after almost 11 years.

“I call myself lucky not because I won the prize that evening nor having several awards/ scholarships from UniSA long time ago when I was a student, but also to able to complete my degree at one of the most successful higher education institutes in the world. I spent the best time of my life at two UniSA centres: Centre for Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation (CERAR) and Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment & Remediation of the Environment (CRC-CARE)”. Said IROS AUSTRALIA TECHNICAL DIRECTOR.

IROS AUSTRALIA-TECHNICAL DIRECTOR- SPECIAL ATTENDEE

What a great night celebrating the victory with The Hon Scott Morrison MP #PrimeMinister Prime Minister of Australia. Congratulations to #Gladys Berejiklian, The Premier of New South Wales. #Gladys #Berejiklian has been congratulated by all political parties for making history by becoming the first woman to be elected premier of NSW by the people. Australia’s economy is made of approximately 2.3 million small-large businesses. NSW continues to play a critical role in the Australian economy and also an important role in the World’s economy.
This victory proves that Australia provides everyone equal and fair opportunity to be whoever they want to be. This requires hard #work to achieve goals and share Australian values. A woman with a long surname can be The Premier of NSW. This is great. This is NSW. This is history, this is victory and this is Australia.

The Hon Scott Morrison MP

Prime Minister of Australia.

The Honourable John Howard, MP

National Environment Protection Measures (NEPM) is a standardised approach for the assessment of site contamination in Australia. Most of the contaminated sites I worked on in this country presented differences. However, the approach for assessing them was/should be the same. Consistency in the approach should be exercised by all contaminated sites investigation specialists/scientists/engineers/consultants/advisors, although different techniques or levels of detail may be applied at different sites (site specific). My dear colleagues! Please just remember that NEPM (from A to Z) values are not CLEAN-UP or REMEDIATION values: they are numbers where further investigation/assessment is required ONLY if exceeded. It is crucial to remember this. Please feel free to comment. Good luck everyone.

NEPM The Holy Book !

Always Keep This In Mind !
